в 5 утра повар ресторана одного из отелей ирландского города Galway перевел на английский текст моего письма Мишелю Уэльбеку:

Dear Michelle! .. good evening!

I'm not sure if i could allow myself to adress myself to you. My Wish was just to express my admiration of your intellegence which doesn't leave any hope to you and me neither.

I just needed some time to cure my depression which was caused by "simple matters", allthough, i think, i was sad before reading your book and it just encoureged it even furhter

i was looking for people that survived after reading your book, all of them are still alive, doing well and have their little joys, it seems to me that, fortunatly, literature is not powerfull enough to kill us nor take our faith in better times.

i live in ukraine .i am 34 years old.and smoke just as much as You do. unfortunatly, i do write a lot less than quantity of smoked cigarettes

Regards, Julij Davidov

спустя 12 часов от автора Элементарных Частиц пришел ответ:

Well, sad books and pessimist philosophers never cause suicides (myself, Schopenhauer helped me to live). It may seem paradoxal, but it is so...

Good luck,

Michel Houellebecq.
